Technology has enabled crime fighters new options such as, DNA profiling, to more efficiently use evidence gathered and also has widened the scope of what is considered evidence. This has forced criminals to be more careful about what they leave behind. This can also make finding evidence more difficult and time consuming for investigators. Now an invention at Michigan State University is making some of the evidence gathering a little easier and more accurate.
